In order to achieve a Good Adsense implementation, you will have to edit the template files. For the sidebar, it is fairly simple - simple paste the code you like in the right template file. ( sidebar.php )

The same goes for the Adsense ads at the end of an artile and above the footer, this is again a simple matter of pasting the code into the corresponding file(s) of your template. There are some other more complicated implementations too, but a bit of searching on Google will wield positive results.
